Welcome to the Movies Section!

If you've ever played a PlayStation, you've heard of the game. If you've ever known a game freak, you've heard of the game. If you haven't heard of the game, you've been hiding under a rock for the past six years.

Resident Evil is just what it sounds like: a movie based on the successful video game series of the same name. However, the movie takes several creative freedoms that sets it apart from the games.

First of all, this movie takes place BEFORE the first game. It involves a top secret laboratory complex located half a mile underneath the streets of Raccoon City, named the Hive. It is run by the international corporation known as Umbrella. Umbrella has been known for its unique medical breakthroughs, but not is all as it seems. Umbrella has secretly been doing illegal genetic research and has dicovered the ultimate viral agent: the T-Virus. Needless to say, the T-Virus is capable of reanimating dead tissue. The only problem is that the reanimated dead only want one thing: to feed on the living.

Night of the Living Dead, eh? Yep. Sounds a bit like that. But the living dead is where the similarities end. The T-Virus breaks loose inside the compound and the sentient computer that controls the Hive (known as the Red Queen) kills everyone in the complex.

Milla Jovovich stars in Resident Evil as "Alice."

The next thing you know, a task force is sent from Umbrella to find out what happened in the compound. That's when all hell breaks loose. The team members shut down the Red Queen, and doing that unlocks all the doors in the compound. Lots of undead beasties start homing in on the smell of living flesh and lots of people die.

So as not to ruin your experience with seeing this movie, I won't provide any spoilers here. But I must say: this is the best video game-to-movie adaptation EVER. Plenty of thrills and chills, and enough action for any movie buff. And yes, you get to see Milla Jovovich naked. The story was very well-conceived and there are plenty of plot twists. You never know what is going to happen next. And I'll tell you this: the ending is to DIE for...

Go see this movie. You will not regret it.
